Şenol Ortaç: Artificial Intelligence and Rapid Claims Management Are Driving Our Growth

Şenol Ortaç, General Manager of Hepiyi Sigorta, discussed the company’s first-quarter performance for 2026, its technology investments and its targets for the coming period during a live broadcast he took part in.

Ortaç, noting that the company had generated a net profit of approximately 2 billion TL in the first quarter of 2026, said that this result placed Hepiyi Sigorta amongst the sector’s top five most profitable companies. He added that they were also one of the sector’s leading companies in terms of return on equity.

Emphasising that Hepiyi Sigorta has a technology-focused business model, Ortaç noted that foreign investors sometimes describe the company as a ‘technology company with an insurance licence’. Stating that technology lies at the heart of their operations, Ortaç explained that this enables them to maintain one of the lowest overhead ratios in the sector.

Ortaç stated that the company’s systems generate approximately 250,000 quotes, issue 12,000–13,000 policies and manage 1,200–1,300 claims per day, adding that the vast majority of these processes are carried out without human intervention and without the use of physical documents.

Ortaç, noting that artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies are used not only in claims handling but also in risk assessment, pricing, agent management, collections and operations management, stated that these technologies speed up decision-making processes and reduce error rates.

Noting that they had carried out significant work in the field of claims management over the past two years, Ortaç said that Hepiyi Sigorta was one of the industry’s fastest claim-paying companies in the comprehensive motor and third-party liability insurance sectors. He added that the company processed claims twice a day, in the morning and at lunchtime, seven days a week.

Ortaç also provided information about the Instant Claims Payment System, noting that customers can upload their claims documents digitally, that a quote is provided following an assessment carried out by artificial intelligence, and that payment can be made instantly if the quote is accepted.

Ortaç, who stated that they had adopted the principle of equality in their dealings with travel agents, said that all of the approximately 9,500 travel agents operated under the same commission, pricing and guarantee structure.

Touching on long-term goals as well, Ortaç said that Hepiyi Sigorta is currently among the top five companies in the sector in the motor third-party liability and comprehensive insurance lines, and that they aim to become the sector leader in motor insurance within the next five years.
