A delegation from the Turkish Insurance Association (TSB) met with Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek to address legal and institutional matters shaping the future of Türkiye’s insurance market. The visit reflected the association’s ongoing effort to support a stronger regulatory environment and improve the sector’s operational reliability.
Representing TSB at the meeting were President Ahmet Yaşar, Vice-Presidents Fahri Uğur and Ayhan Sincek, Deputy Secretary-General Ahmet Gökdağ, and Senior Legal Adviser Alper Can Eroğlan. Discussions focused on practical legal issues and structural measures that could help the insurance system function in a faster, more effective, and more dependable manner.
Priority Legal Issues on the Agenda
Among the central topics raised were the prevention of unauthorised claims consultancy, stronger action against the circulation of forged surety bonds, and closer coordination between the Insurance Arbitration Commission and the Institute of Forensic Medicine. These matters were evaluated as critical to preserving trust in the market and reducing legal and procedural weaknesses.
The meeting also underlined the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in resolving disputes more efficiently. Participants exchanged views on current practices affecting the industry and explored ways to reinforce legal certainty while improving the protection available to policyholders.
TSB stated that it will continue working with public institutions on initiatives aimed at supporting the sector’s sound development. Enhancing legal security, protecting insured parties, and reinforcing confidence in the insurance system remain among the association’s core priorities.
