A delegation from the Turkish Insurance Association (TSB) met with Hasan Kaymak, Chair of the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), to evaluate issues that directly affect the insurance industry, particularly in the areas of financial crime prevention, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
The visit was attended by TSB President Ahmet Yaşar, Vice-Presidents Fahri Uğur and Ayhan Sincek, Deputy Secretary-General Ahmet Gökdağ, and Senior Legal Adviser Alper Can Eroğlan. Discussions centered on current practices, sector-specific difficulties, and opportunities to improve coordination with public authorities.
Key compliance topics discussed
Among the main matters reviewed were the challenges arising in insurance transactions involving individuals whose assets have been frozen. The delegation also presented the sector’s expectations and suggestions concerning the revision of threshold values used in identity verification procedures.
The meeting provided a platform for exchanging practical solution proposals aimed at resolving implementation-related issues. In addition, both sides considered steps that could strengthen institutional cooperation and support smoother compliance processes across the sector.
Focus on operational effectiveness and cooperation
Participants also shared assessments on improving the insurance sector’s ability to align with legislation, making operational workflows more effective, and reinforcing coordination with relevant public institutions.
This engagement between TSB and MASAK is expected to support the resolution of sector needs through dialogue with the competent authorities while contributing to stronger collaboration in the broader fight against financial crime.
