In this position, he will oversee Sales and Marketing, Claims, and Technical Affairs, taking on a central role in the companies’ operational and strategic development.
Known for his deep background in finance and participatory insurance, Dr Gürbüz brings together academic distinction and extensive sector experience. His appointment reflects the companies’ intention to reinforce leadership in key business areas while benefiting from his long-standing expertise in takaful and insurance management.
Professional Background and Sector Contribution
Dr Gürbüz is widely recognised in the participatory insurance field for both his institutional leadership and technical knowledge. He served as the founding Secretary-General and President of the Participatory Insurance Association (KATSİDER), where he contributed to the development and representation of the sector. He also held the role of Head of Internal Audit at Neova Insurance for many years, gaining substantial experience in governance and oversight.
His career stands out for combining sector leadership with operational depth, making him a notable figure in the evolution of participatory insurance in Türkiye.
Academic Qualifications and New Responsibilities
A graduate of the Economics Department at Istanbul University, Dr Gürbüz completed both his master’s degree and doctorate at the same institution. Alongside his professional roles, he has been especially noted for his academic studies and research focusing on participatory insurance, as well as for his broader contributions to the industry.
