Sompo Sigorta has marked the graduation of the second group in its Risk Adviser Agency Programme, developed together with Nar Education to reinforce a consultancy-led agency model in the insurance market. A total of 19 agents successfully finished the nearly nine-month programme, which ran from September 2025 to June 2026 and concluded with a certificate ceremony.
Created to help agents move beyond a traditional product-sales role, the initiative focuses on preparing them to become trusted advisers who evaluate client exposures from a broader perspective and recommend strategic, sustainable solutions. With its second graduating class, the programme further demonstrates Sompo Sigorta’s continuing commitment to building a long-term and durable development model for its agency network.
A training journey built on theory, analysis and field experience
Over the course of the programme, participants received in-depth instruction in risk management, insurance, consultancy, risk engineering, risk culture, business development and case analysis. The learning process was designed to blend academic knowledge with practical application, giving agents a more complete understanding of advisory-based insurance services.
In addition to classroom-based sessions, participants joined site visits alongside Sompo Sigorta risk engineers and carried out assessments at real businesses. Departmental meetings, presentations by specialist speakers, case studies and final project work all contributed to strengthening both technical capability and consultancy competence. The collaborative environment established during the programme also helped participants build a lasting professional network grounded in knowledge-sharing and teamwork.
Agents completing the programme are expected to continue serving clients with a more analytical and value-driven approach, helping businesses better identify risks, improve management processes and support long-term resilience.
Sompo Sigorta highlights prevention and social value in insurance
Uğur Özer, Deputy General Manager of Corporate Insurance at Sompo Sigorta, said that the programme was designed with a purpose far beyond increasing policy sales. According to him, the central goal is to strengthen risk awareness and risk management culture within businesses so that the likelihood and severity of losses can be reduced, ultimately supporting a safer, stronger and more sustainable society.
He emphasized that the real importance of insurance is not limited to compensation after damage occurs, but lies in fostering the knowledge and culture needed to prevent risks from turning into losses in the first place. He also noted that companies that manage risk effectively protect not only their own assets, but also their employees, customers, supply chains and the broader community.
Özer further underlined that risk management is a core element of economic sustainability, corporate durability and social responsibility. Sompo Sigorta’s broader objective, he explained, is to promote a holistic risk approach that safeguards not just buildings, machinery and financial resources, but also human life, employee wellbeing, the environment and natural resources.
By positioning agents as strategic solution partners rather than only policy intermediaries, the company believes the future of insurance will increasingly be shaped by prevention, guidance and sustainable value creation. The growing impact of the programme, now visible through its second graduating class, reflects that transformation in action.
