Atilla Oksay Highlights Bancassurance and Customer-Centred Growth at AIIF 2026 in Baku

Atilla Oksay, Deputy Secretary-General of the Turkish Insurance Association (TSB), addressed participants at the Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum (AIIF 2026) in Baku, where he focused on the expanding role of bancassurance in shaping the future of the insurance market. Speaking at the event hosted by the Azerbaijan Insurers’ Association, he shared insights from Türkiye’s insurance sector and outlined how bank-insurance cooperation can support broader market development.

During his remarks, Oksay drew attention to the opportunities emerging in life and health insurance, describing these branches as areas with notable growth potential. He also stressed that a stronger customer-focused approach can create meaningful value for both insurers and policyholders, especially when customer experience is managed effectively and consistently.

Strategic Focus on Protection and Inclusion

According to Oksay, the insurance sector should not be viewed solely through the lens of premium production. Instead, he underlined that its wider mission is to extend protection to larger segments of society and to strengthen financial resilience against everyday risks.

“Our ultimate aim is to ensure that more individuals and families are protected against life and health risks, rather than simply generating more premiums,” Oksay said, reinforcing the idea that sustainable sector growth must be tied to social benefit as well as commercial performance.

AIIF 2026 stood out as an important regional forum that brought together insurance industry representatives, public institutions and international specialists. The event created a platform for discussing current developments in the sector, future cooperation opportunities and a shared vision for insurance markets across the region.
