Howden has expanded its leadership team in India by appointing T S VijayaVenkateswaran as Executive Vice President, Property and Risk Management. Based in Chennai, he steps into the role with more than 24 years of experience spanning risk management, insurance operations, and claims handling across key commercial lines including cargo, engineering, property, and liability.
Over the course of his career, he has developed strong expertise in insurer systems and has worked closely on challenges tied to underwriting and claims processes. His background also includes managing large and technically complex claims, while supporting effective reinsurance recoveries through collaboration with insurers and specialist experts.
Extensive Industry Background
Before joining Howden, VijayaVenkateswaran spent four years at Marsh India, where he most recently held the position of Executive Vice President after serving as Vice President. His earlier experience includes more than seven years at Union Insurance as Senior Manager, Non Motor Claims, along with a prior leadership role as Associate Vice President at Aon Global Insurance Brokers.
He has additionally worked with AIG Systems, 3i Infotech Limited, and Armour Consultants Private Limited, building a broad foundation across insurance, claims, and technology-linked functions. This combination of operational and technical knowledge is expected to support Howden’s property and risk management capabilities in the Indian market.
