BYD Introduces No-Liability Coverage for God’s Eye Smart Driving Users

BYD has unveiled a new policy for its smart driving technology that covers both urban pilot assistance and intelligent parking functions. With this announcement, the company says it is setting a new benchmark by removing accident liability from the user when the system is used properly under its stated conditions.

The coverage applies to vehicles equipped with the God’s Eye smart driving system. New owners will receive this protection at delivery, while existing users will gain access through an over-the-air update. If an incident is caused by a system fault while the feature is being used in compliance with regulations, BYD will take responsibility for repair expenses, third-party property losses, and personal injury costs.

How the protection works

One of the most striking parts of the policy is that there is no additional fee for this service. BYD also states that the compensation comes with no payout ceiling, making it a rare offering in the current automotive market. The company further notes that using this support will not increase the owner’s commercial insurance premium in the following year.

Pricing advantage over rivals

BYD is introducing the God’s Eye B smart driving package at a one-time price of $1,800. This positions it far below major competitors in China. Tesla offers its comparable driver-assistance package, marketed as Tesla-Assisted Driving, for $9,400 and does not provide a subscription option. Meanwhile, Huawei’s ADS Max system is priced at $5,300 for a single purchase.

BYD has already seen strong results from related ownership incentives. Through the parking guarantee program introduced last year, the company increased real-world usage of the feature from 21 percent to 93 percent, suggesting that confidence-building measures can significantly boost adoption.
