Statement from Ceyhan Hancıoğlu on Magdeburger Sigorta: “We Will Achieve the Difficult Together Once Again”

Ceyhan Hancıoğlu, General Manager of Magdeburger Sigorta, provided significant insights into the company’s current situation and ongoing efforts in a statement shared via his social media accounts. Responding to long-standing expectations from industry stakeholders, Hancıoğlu noted that the current process represents one of the most challenging periods of his career in the insurance sector, whilst emphasising that the company is engaged in an intense struggle to navigate this period with minimal loss, in collaboration with all its stakeholders.

Beginning his statement by celebrating the recent Eid al-Adha, Hancıoğlu expressed his hope that many more festivals would be reached in good health and peace. Referring to the fact that the long-awaited developments had not yet been shared, Hancıoğlu said, “I know we have kept you waiting for a long time. Actually, we wanted to celebrate both festivals together and share the good news, but we were unable to manage it.”

Emphasising that Magdeburger Sigorta has always operated with a transparent management approach, Hancıoğlu noted that he has never been a manager who hides behind excuses, adding, “In my 36-year career in insurance, I cannot recall a period when we were this exhausted. However, together with our staff, agents and all our business partners, we are getting through this process with minimal losses.”

Expressing that they expect concrete developments to emerge over the next 2 to 4 weeks, Hancıoğlu said they wish to share positive outcomes with the sector and their business partners. The experienced manager, emphasising that the company strives to do its best under all circumstances, stated his belief that what is happening today will be remembered as a significant success story when looked back upon in the future.

“We Will Never Forget Our Agents’ Loyalty”

In his statement, Hancıoğlu also extended a special thank you to Magdeburger Insurance agents, noting that all business partners who stood by the company even during difficult times hold great value for them.

“Our agents are very loyal, faithful and, above all, very good people. We have a large community who visited us, called us, sent messages and never failed to offer their prayers, even during periods when we were unable to operate,” said Hancıoğlu, adding that the company management would never forget this support.

Highlighting the sensitivity shown regarding policy cancellations, Hancıoğlu noted that the vast majority of agents heeded the company’s call and did not proceed with cancellations except in exceptional circumstances.

Stating that the process is ongoing and that the sector will be properly informed of all developments, Hancıoğlu said, “We ask for a little more patience. However, I can assure you of this: if the process concludes shortly, we will share the positive developments; should it be prolonged, we will still provide the most accurate information.”

Emphasising that he has always regarded himself as a friend, a brother and a member of the industry, Hancıoğlu stressed that he would continue to stand by the agents and business partners with all his experience and expertise.
