Aon has strengthened its Global ReSpecialty division with the immediate appointment of Jimmy Mitchell and Adam Rimmer as new brokers, reinforcing the firm’s focus on specialist reinsurance and risk advisory capabilities.
These additions reflect Aon’s continued investment in experienced talent as it supports clients seeking broader access to risk transfer solutions in an increasingly complex and fast-changing market environment.
Jimmy Mitchell Takes Vice President Role in New York
Mitchell has been appointed Vice President of Global ReSpecialty in New York. In this role, he will advise clients on building global treaty portfolios, while using his industry relationships and technical background to expand opportunities within proportional reinsurance markets.
He joined Aon’s Commercial Risk unit in 2025 after previous roles with Guy Carpenter and Willis. In his new position, he will report to James Fogarty, global head of marine, energy and composite for Global ReSpecialty, and will work across both Retrocession and Specialty Proportional business lines.
Adam Rimmer Joins as Senior Property Specialty Broker in London
Rimmer has joined the company as a senior Property Specialty broker based in London, reporting to Ivor James, senior broker for Global ReSpecialty.
His background includes extensive expertise in property reinsurance, insurance-linked securities, and parametric solutions, which will support Aon’s efforts to deliver a wide range of risk transfer strategies for clients.
Before moving to Aon, Rimmer spent eight years at FloodFlash, a parametric managing general agent, where he served as co-founder and CEO. Earlier in his career, he worked for five years in the capital markets team at risk modelling company RMS.
