In response to the recent mandate from the SEDDK requiring all insurance firms to hire certified staff knowledgeable in IFRS 17, the Turkish Insurance Institute Foundation (TSEV) has launched a specialized training program. This initiative marks a pivotal development in the industry’s shift towards new financial reporting standards. Leaders in insurance education have undertaken the responsibility to guide professionals through this transition effectively.
The training program kicked off on 6 May with an opening speech by Ali Burak Kurtulan, Deputy Chairman of the SEDDK. Kurtulan underscored the vital steps necessary for adapting to IFRS 17 and emphasized preparedness for this transformative era. This comprehensive training doesn’t just focus on the theoretical aspects; it utilizes practical scenarios to enhance participants’ practical abilities, aiming to ready them for the impending certification process.
Expert Contributors Enhance Learning
Participants benefit from the expertise of trainers from renowned firms like KPMG and Deloitte, alongside professionals from AXA Turkey and Agesa. The course thoroughly explains the application of IFRS 17 in today’s market, training attendees to excel in financial analysis and strategic reporting.
An Intensive 66-Hour Course
Over a course of 15 days and spanning 66 hours, this rigorous program aims not only to gear up professionals for the SEDDK certification exam but also to groom them into proactive contributors to their companies’ IFRS 17 compliance. As a pioneering effort by TSEV, this curriculum serves as the industry’s benchmark.
Flexibility in Learning Modes
The course employs a hybrid teaching model, accommodating both in-person sessions at TSEV’s Nişantaşı center and distance learning via Zoom, ensuring accessibility for all participants.
Upcoming Enrollment Opportunities
With the commencement of the second group scheduled for 14 May 2026, interest remains high. As initial slots were swiftly filled, future rounds, namely the third and fourth groups, are already being organized, with announcements expected soon. Individuals eager to become change agents in the insurance sector’s IFRS 17 adaptation are encouraged to enroll.
