Allianz Türkiye is broadening its investment fund offering for participants in the Individual Pension Scheme (BES) by introducing the AZD Allianz Fund, a new option designed for investors seeking both international growth exposure and portfolio balance. The fund brings together a globally recognised equity strategy from Allianz Global Investors and the portfolio management capabilities of Yapı Kredi Portföy, creating a structure aimed at supporting long-term savings goals.
Built to address the changing expectations of different investor profiles, the AZD Fund combines access to international stock markets with the defensive characteristics of gold. Through this approach, Allianz Türkiye continues to strengthen the range of investment solutions available to BES participants while offering a more diversified path for those who want their retirement savings to benefit from global market opportunities.
Global equity strategy supported by gold allocation
The AZD Allianz Fund is based in part on Allianz Global Investors’ Best Styles Global Equity strategy, which has received a 5-star Morningstar rating, a distinction that reflects top-tier risk-adjusted performance within its category. By integrating this strategy into its BES fund lineup, Allianz Türkiye gives investors access to a globally tested investment model through a locally managed solution.
The fund is structured with a balanced allocation in mind. Half of the portfolio is linked to global equity performance, focusing on international companies and major market opportunities, while the remaining component is designed to track gold over time. This hybrid model seeks to combine growth potential with a measure of resilience, helping investors benefit from both expanding global markets and the stabilising effect often associated with precious metals.
A diversified option for uncertain market conditions
One of the AZD Fund’s defining features is its flexibility across changing market environments. By bringing global shares and gold together in one portfolio, the fund is intended to reduce concentration risk and support a more balanced asset allocation. This makes it particularly relevant for investors looking to spread risk beyond domestic markets and traditional single-asset strategies.
In periods of elevated uncertainty, asset allocation becomes increasingly important. Allianz Türkiye emphasises that investors are showing stronger interest in diversification and in opportunities outside local markets. The AZD Fund responds to this demand by offering a structure that aims to capture international growth while also helping preserve balance within pension portfolios.
Executive view on the AZD Fund launch
Fisun Koç Doğan, Deputy General Manager of Allianz Türkiye Life Insurance and Individual Pension, said the company continues to refresh and expand its fund range in line with shifting investor needs. According to Doğan, participants are no longer focused only on increasing the number of available funds, but also on accessing more strategically designed investment solutions that improve diversification and connect them to global markets.
She noted that the AZD Allianz Fund combines Allianz Global Investors’ international equity expertise with the balancing role of gold, offering BES participants a robust alternative for long-term accumulation. She also highlighted that Yapı Kredi Portföy’s management experience, together with Allianz’s investment knowledge, is expected to strengthen the fund’s contribution to participants’ retirement savings objectives.
Access to international markets through BES funds
Allianz Türkiye’s foreign equity fund range enables investors to follow the global economy through exposure to major international exchanges and indices such as the NASDAQ, S&P 500 and NYSE. This gives BES participants the chance to benefit from the performance of high-potential global companies instead of relying solely on domestic market movements.
In addition to its fund offering, Allianz supports investors through specialised services designed to improve decision-making. The Allianz Investment Committee, established in 2022 and made up of independent financial experts, provides regular assessments on market trends and investment instruments. Alongside this, the Allianz Financial Advisory Service offers monthly tailored fund suggestions for customers who want to save more effectively but need guidance on how to manage their investments.
