AXA Sigorta and World Federation of the Disabled Launch Inclusive Insurance Training Initiative

AXA Sigorta has entered into a new partnership with the World Federation of the Disabled to help expand the role of people with disabilities in social and professional life. Announced during World Disability Week, the collaboration focuses on building an accessible training platform that will equip participants with the skills needed to pursue opportunities in the insurance industry.

Guided by its mission of protecting what people value for the progress of humanity, AXA Sigorta is strengthening its commitment to inclusion through a long-term project centered on education, employability, and accessibility. Developed together with the World Federation of the Disabled under the leadership of Metin Şentürk, the initiative is also supported by Artse Reinsurance and Insurance Brokerage, while Finsuretechs contributes technological infrastructure to the project.

Accessible learning and sector preparation

In the first stage of the programme, inspired by AXA Sigorta’s “Empathy Guarantee” approach, an education platform will be created to provide participants with training in core insurance knowledge, Microsoft Office applications, and other sector-related competencies. Those who successfully complete the programme will also be able to prepare for the SEGEM certification exam, helping them build a stronger path toward professional participation in the insurance field.

By combining education with certification readiness and digital access, the initiative seeks to remove barriers that often limit entry into the sector. The broader aim is to create a practical and sustainable model that brings together technology, expertise, and employment support under a shared vision of inclusion.

Product development with a more inclusive perspective

The second phase of the project will focus on adapting AXA Sigorta’s products in line with the needs and expectations of people with disabilities. These improvements will be shaped by the outcomes of a workshop conducted with the World Federation of the Disabled, helping the company move toward a more inclusive product structure.

This step is expected to reinforce accessibility across the insurance ecosystem while encouraging a broader industry conversation around equal participation. The project is designed not only as a training initiative, but also as a model for lasting structural impact.

Statements from project leaders

Commenting on the partnership, AXA Sigorta CEO Yavuz Ölken said that projects touching people’s lives generate genuine value. He noted that this common understanding brought AXA Sigorta and the World Federation of the Disabled together, adding that the new initiative is intended to make access to information and personal development opportunities much easier for people with disabilities. He also emphasized that the combination of education, technology, and industry knowledge could serve as an important example for the wider insurance sector, while thanking all contributors, especially Metin Şentürk, for their support.

Metin Şentürk, President of the World Federation of the Disabled, underlined the importance of expanding inclusive practices across industries. He stated that after completing the training, graduates will be supported in connecting with employment opportunities across insurance companies, agency channels, call centres, operational departments, and digital business lines, helping match workforce demand with qualified candidates.

Further details regarding the platform’s technical structure and application procedures are expected to be announced soon. In addition, the next phase of the project is planned to introduce new advantages for participants, further strengthening the initiative’s long-term social and sectoral impact.
