DASK Raises Compulsory Earthquake Insurance Ceiling to 2.41 Million TL for July 2026

The Natural Disaster Insurance Institution, known as DASK, has increased the coverage available under Compulsory Earthquake Insurance by adjusting policy limits in line with monthly inflation data. From 1 July 2026, the maximum protection amount has been set at 2,407,723 Turkish Lira, reflecting a monthly rise of roughly 64,440 TL.

DASK stated that these regular revisions are intended to preserve the financial strength of earthquake insurance coverage and help policyholders maintain more effective protection against possible disaster-related losses.

Coverage adjustments linked to producer price data

The institution calculates insurance coverage updates according to changes in the Domestic Producer Price Index published by the Turkish Statistical Institute, TÜİK. After the latest producer price data was announced, the monthly increase rate applied for July was determined as 2.75 percent.

For comparison, the adjustment rate had been 2.30 percent in May and 3.17 percent in June, showing that the coverage ceiling continues to be revised each month based on official inflation indicators.

Square metre costs also moved upward

The revision also affected the unit construction values used in insurance calculations. As of 1 July 2026, the insured unit cost for reinforced concrete buildings increased to 11,357 TL per square metre, while the amount for other building types rose to 7,571 TL per square metre.

In the previous month, those figures had stood at 11,053 TL and 7,369 TL respectively, indicating a continued upward adjustment in line with updated economic data.
