Liberty Specialty Markets, a business within Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Monique Kooijman as General Manager for the Netherlands, Belgium, and the Nordic region. The move highlights the company’s ongoing effort to strengthen its footprint in Europe and accelerate development in key regional markets.
According to the company, the appointment aligns with its broader “Invest in Europe” strategy and supports its long-term 2030 growth ambitions. Kooijman’s leadership is expected to play an important role in advancing Liberty Specialty Markets’ position across these strategically important territories.
Kooijman brings more than 30 years of international insurance experience to the role. Before joining Liberty Specialty Markets, she served at Everest as Netherlands Branch Manager and Head of Northern Europe, where she held senior responsibility for operations and regional oversight.
Earlier in her career, she spent more than seven years at CNA Hardy, taking on leadership positions including Regional Director Northern Europe and Regional Director Benelux. She also built extensive experience during a 21-year tenure at Chubb Insurance Company Europe, where she progressed through a range of increasingly senior roles after joining in 1995.
