Z. Mehmet Tuğtan has been honoured with the “Leader of the Year in the Insurance Sector” award as part of the ITU Management Awards 2026, organised by Istanbul Technical University.
The ceremony, organised by the ITU Industrial Engineering Club, took place on Saturday 4 April at the Mustafa Kemal Amphitheatre on the ITU Maçka Campus. In this event, where leaders from various sectors were evaluated based on student votes, the award presented to Z. Mehmet Tuğtan was seen as a sign of the trust young people place in the insurance sector and in Anadolu Sigorta.
Anadolu Sigorta, one of Turkey’s long-established insurance companies, continues its work with strategies focused on digital transformation, customer experience and sustainability as it enters its second century. The company stands out for the applications it has developed to meet the expectations of the younger generation and its approach to accessible services.
Speaking at the ceremony, Z. Mehmet Tuğtan noted that being deemed worthy of this award based on students’ evaluations at Istanbul Technical University held significant meaning for him, and he thanked the members of the ITU Industrial Engineering Club for their efforts in organising the event. Tuğtan stated that, drawing strength from Anadolu Sigorta’s long-standing heritage as it moves forward into the new century, the company is continuing its transformation by understanding the expectations of young people.
Emphasising that the insurance sector is built on a foundation of trust, Tuğtan noted that the sustainability of this trust is made possible through an innovative approach, teamwork and the ability to analyse the future accurately. He stated that the award was accepted on behalf of the entire team working within the company.
