A Historic Milestone in the Turkish Insurance Sector: Dual Leadership from Türkiye Sigorta and Türkiye Hayat Emeklilik

According to first-quarter figures for 2026, Türkiye Sigorta and Türkiye Hayat Emeklilik achieved a first in the sector’s history by securing a profit in both the life and non-life categories simultaneously.

According to the net profit figures announced for 31 March 2026, the Turkish insurance sector demonstrated a strong performance, achieving a total net profit of 49,423,713,938 TL. The state-owned companies at the top of the list left their mark on the sector with the figures they achieved.

The Leaders

Türkiye Sigorta A.Ş. topped the list with a net profit of 6,429,735,394 TL, followed closely by Türkiye Hayat ve Emeklilik A.Ş. with 5,325,390,233 TL. With these results, the two institutions achieved simultaneous leadership in their respective fields, marking a historic success.

A Significant Share of the Total

The total profit of the “Other” companies, which do not feature among the top 10 firms representing the sector’s elite, was recorded as 17,266,564,616 TL. During this period, when the total market reached 49.4 billion TL, the share of the top two institutions in the total profit reached a striking magnitude.

These results indicate that the Turkish insurance market has made a highly profitable start to 2026 and that public sector brands have consolidated their dominance in the market.
