AXA Goodness Week Kicked Off with a Beach Clean-up Event Featuring Bengisu Avcı

AXA Turkey has once again kicked off AXA Goodness Week—organised simultaneously worldwide by the AXA Group—with a comprehensive volunteering programme. The first step in the series of events was a coastal and marine clean-up held at Karaburun Yeniköy Beach as part of World Oceans Day. The event, organised with the participation of Bengisu Avcı – AXA Turkey’s values partner, national ultra-marathon swimmer and coach – raised awareness of marine pollution and supported the protection of natural life.

Throughout AXA Goodness Week, employees will be volunteering in various social responsibility projects. As part of this initiative, report card gifts will be delivered to pupils at Hatay Büyükdalyan Tüm Kalplerde Primary School, and support kits prepared in collaboration with the Çorbada Tuzun Olsun Association will be distributed to those in need. Sports events will be organised in partnership with the Kırmızı Çocuklar Association, whilst the AXA Band will be meeting with young people.

As part of the programme, workshops for children with intellectual disabilities will also be held in collaboration with GEA Search and Rescue, visits to care homes will take place, and wheelchairs will be assembled for those in need. Workshops organised in collaboration with Urban Gardening and Ashoka Turkey will raise awareness on sustainable living, empathy and leadership.

As part of environmental awareness initiatives, AXA employees will be taking part in a challenge throughout the week to walk 20 million steps and cycle 500 kilometres. Depending on the results achieved, hundreds of new saplings will be planted.
