Turkish Insurance Association and Health Ministry Explore Stronger Public-Private Healthcare Cooperation

Representatives of the Turkish Insurance Association met with Minister of Health Prof. Dr Kemal Memişoğlu to discuss ways to deepen coordination between the health and insurance sectors. The delegation included Chairman Ahmet Yaşar, Vice-Chairmen Fahri Uğur and Ayhan Sincek, along with Secretary-General Özgür Obalı.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on measures that could improve citizens’ access to healthcare services while also supporting the long-term development of the sector. Particular attention was given to initiatives that may help create a more resilient and sustainable framework for cooperation.

Focus on Sustainable Healthcare and Insurance Integration

The discussions also addressed how public-private collaboration can contribute to the efficiency and financial sustainability of healthcare services. In this context, the role of the insurance sector in supporting the broader healthcare ecosystem was evaluated, and several proposals were raised to reinforce that contribution.

The Turkish Insurance Association delegation thanked Minister Memişoğlu for his warm reception and for sharing constructive views on the future progress of the sector. The visit underscored a shared interest in building stronger ties between healthcare administration and insurance stakeholders in order to deliver broader public benefit.
