Actuaries Association Announces New Leadership Amidst Milestone Celebrations

The Actuaries Association marked its 75th anniversary with a pivotal general meeting held on April 17. During this important event, Cenk Yal107cIn was re-elected as the president, and a new executive committee was formed. The association is looking forward to hosting notable international gatherings in the coming years.

The gathering commenced with homage paid through a moment of silence honoring Mustafa Kemal Atat0107rk and our cherished martyrs, followed by the National Anthem. The General Assembly was presided over by 0e9030fzat 07etinkaya from Sompo Sigorta, alongside Bet0f6l 03ehra Gen0ecg05on09l of Hacettepe University and Mehmet Dursun representing Ernst & Young.

Steering the Future: Roles and Responsibilities

Post-election, at the board’s inaugural meeting, roles were strategically allocated. Cenk Yal0107c07n assumed the position of Chairman, with 06brahim 0c9ak04ir taking on the Vice-Chairman duties. Esin Eldelekli was appointed as General Secretary, Ay08e Nur Mert took charge as Treasurer, while Yusuf Arslan was entrusted with public relations, organisation, and educational efforts.

Overseeing the financial audit processes, the committee includes Prof. Dr. Sevtap Kestel, Yetkin Tuncay, and Aylin Yal0207n Avc03. The Association expressed gratitude to participating members for their supportive participation in the elections. Emphasizing continuity, they reiterated their commitment to advancing the actuarial profession.

International Conferences on the Horizon

Looking forward, the Association is poised to host two major international events. The 2026 EAJ Association conference is set to occur from September 9-11 in Istanbul, in partnership with METU at the ITU Ta0fkl09sla Campus. Further strengthening international ties, the European Actuarial Association (AAE) Spring Official Committees Meeting is scheduled to also be held in Istanbul in 2027.
