The delegation from TARSİM, led by Dr Ahmet Bağcı, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and Chairman of the TARSİM Board, visited Madrid on April 13–14 with a focus on bolstering agricultural insurance collaboration between Turkey and Spain. During their visit, they engaged in significant discussions with Agroseguro and Mapfre Re representatives, two key players in Spain’s agricultural insurance industry.
Throughout the meetings, new and innovative digital solutions in agricultural insurance were extensively discussed. The delegation focused on the challenges posed by the increasing natural disasters and the risks associated with global climate change. In light of these discussions, sustainable financing models and mechanisms aimed at safeguarding farmers’ incomes were thoroughly evaluated.
Moreover, the exchange of private sector experiences proved invaluable. Both parties underscored the importance of continuing and enhancing their strategic partnership, with a strong emphasis on agricultural insurance and related sectors.
- Official representatives hailed from Turkey’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Authority (SEDDK), and the Agricultural Insurance Pool Management.
- Agroseguro and Mapfre Re, recognized leaders in the Spanish agricultural insurance market, hosted the discussions.
The outcome of the visit further cements the commitment to nurturing and advancing mutual interests in agricultural insurance.
