AXA Sigorta Highlights Insurance and Sustainable Investment as Pillars of Agriculture’s Future

AXA Sigorta, guided by its mission to protect what matters to people in support of human progress, presented its forward-looking perspective on agriculture at the fourth Agriculture, Investment and Impact Summit. By taking part in strategic discussions focused on the sector’s long-term direction, the company reinforced its commitment to supporting the agricultural ecosystem through sustainable production models and innovative insurance solutions.

During the session on agricultural investments and emerging opportunities, Seda Bora Arkan, AXA Sigorta’s Director of International Business Development and Green Investments and a Member of the Executive Board, drew attention to the increasingly critical role of insurance in agriculture. She stressed that lasting sustainability in the sector begins with protecting the people who work in it and noted that attracting younger generations is essential for agriculture’s future.

Arkan underlined that the sector can become more appealing to young people through the support of next-generation technologies and well-structured investment. In her view, farming can be established as a stronger career path when technology, investment, and insurance operate together as interconnected drivers of development.

Making Insurance More Practical for Farmers

Addressing farmers’ approach to insurance and the knowledge gaps that still exist across the sector, Arkan said that policies should be designed in a way that is both simpler and broader in scope. She explained that insurance products need to respond directly to the everyday realities of agricultural life rather than remain difficult to interpret.

She also stated that one of AXA Sigorta’s priorities is to help farmers gain a much clearer understanding of the protection included in their policies. For this reason, the company is working to make its farmer-focused insurance packages easier to understand while still offering broad coverage for assets such as tractors, machinery, and other essential equipment.

Insurance as a Safeguard for Production Continuity

In her remarks, Arkan emphasized that insurance should not be seen merely as an expense, but as a safeguard that helps maintain uninterrupted production. She pointed to the growing global interest in new-generation insurance models and noted that these systems can create a stronger resilience framework for the agricultural sector.

Among these models, parametric insurance stands out because of its rapid compensation structure. Arkan noted that such solutions, which enable fast payouts based on predefined triggers, may play a major role in the transformation of Turkish agriculture in the coming period.

With an approach rooted in sustainability and innovation, AXA Sigorta continues to position itself as a strategic partner in agriculture. By helping protect farmers’ operations and promoting modern risk solutions, the company aims to support the sector’s broader transformation and future development.
