Unico Sigorta Strengthens Industry Ties at the Insurance Stakeholders Cooperation Fair and Summit in Izmir

Backed by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey and SEDDK, hosted by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, and organised by IZFAŞ, the Insurance Stakeholders Cooperation Fair and Summit brought together major representatives of the insurance world at Fuar Izmir between 11 and 13 June. Throughout the event, Unico Sigorta stood out as one of the active participants, welcoming visitors and engaging directly with business partners, sector professionals, and stakeholders.

During the three-day programme, the company used its exhibition presence not only to introduce its current products and services, but also to exchange views on its strategic direction and upcoming priorities. This close and sincere interaction helped deepen relationships across the sector and further supported Unico Sigorta’s commitment to building stronger and more sustainable partnerships.

Visitors to the stand were personally received by senior representatives including CEO Ender Güzeler, Sales Director Barış Tabakoğlu, the Aegean Regional Sales team, and the company’s Fire and Health Coordinators. Their presence reflected the importance Unico Sigorta places on direct communication and sector-wide cooperation.

Insurance Transformation Driven by Risk Awareness and Technology

On the second day of the summit, Ender Güzeler took part in the panel “The Future of Insurance: From Risk to Opportunity” and shared his perspective on the sector’s changing role. He explained that insurance is no longer limited to compensating losses after they occur; instead, it is evolving into a structure that anticipates customer risks in advance and offers timely, accurate guidance.

According to Güzeler, artificial intelligence and digital technologies are among the most influential forces behind this shift. He stated that insurance companies of the future will move beyond their traditional policy-issuing role and increasingly position themselves as trusted solution partners through AI-supported digital platforms. In his view, the core of insurance still lies in identifying and measuring risks correctly, while also producing solutions that reduce their impact effectively.

He also underlined the growing importance of data-based decision-making in today’s business environment. Organisations, he noted, should prepare not only for favourable outcomes but also for challenging scenarios. Robust risk management, stress testing, and effective control systems remain essential for achieving long-term and sustainable success.

Güzeler added that while technology has made the customer journey faster, easier to access, and more personalised, the sector’s central mission has not changed. Insurance continues to provide reassurance by foreseeing risks and helping minimise the financial consequences they may create. He emphasised that Unico Sigorta will continue advancing with a transformation vision shaped by technology, innovation, and customer focus, while working together with stakeholders to expand insurance awareness and support sectoral growth.

A New Generation’s Role in the Future of Insurance

On the third day, Barış Tabakoğlu joined the panel “What Lies Ahead for the Second Generation in the Insurance Industry?” and addressed the evolving position of younger professionals in the field. He pointed out that the greatest strength of the second generation lies in their ability to merge long-established trust-based relationships and accumulated sector experience with the demands of a rapidly changing world.

Tabakoğlu stressed that in a period shaped by accelerating digitalisation, the professionals who will make the greatest impact are those who understand customer expectations well, attach importance to after-sales service, and use technology effectively. He noted that this combination will play a defining role in the future progress of the industry.

Highlighting the company’s own approach, he stated that people-centred thinking and strong business partnerships will remain at the heart of this transformation. Through its participation at the summit, Unico Sigorta once again demonstrated its intention to contribute actively to the sector’s future while maintaining close, value-driven relationships across the insurance ecosystem.
