Whilst initiatives focusing on agents’ professional rights, their position within the sector and their vision for the future have recently been attracting attention in the Turkish insurance sector, the Söz Acentede Insurance Agents Platform, established with its headquarters in Ankara, has managed to make a significant impact on the sector’s agenda in a short space of time.
According to reports, the platform was launched under the leadership of Bülent Yük, a figure well known within the insurance agency community and recognised for his long-standing active involvement in the sector. Although the official leadership and board structure have not yet been announced to the public, it is reported that a large number of experienced insurance agents from various regions of Turkey have supported the platform’s establishment.
The First Strong Message at the İzmir Fair
The ‘Söz Acentede’ Insurance Agents’ Platform attracted widespread attention for the first time at the ‘Sigorta İzmir – Insurance Stakeholders’ Cooperation Fair and Summit’, which has become one of the sector’s most important events.
It has been reported that during the meetings held throughout the fair, platform representatives met with agents from all over Turkey and engaged in extensive discussions on the sector’s current challenges and proposed solutions. It is stated that issues such as rising costs in recent years, changing distribution channels, the impacts of digitalisation, commission structures, and the representational power of agents within decision-making mechanisms are among the platform’s priority areas of focus.
The platform, which attracted considerable interest from trade fair participants, drew attention for the support it received despite still being in its early stages. Industry representatives believe that this new initiative, which aims to act as the voice of travel agents, could take on an important role in the coming period.
“Agents will have a stronger say”
At the heart of the platform’s founding philosophy lies the aim of giving a stronger voice to the concerns of insurance agents—one of the sector’s most important distribution channels—and ensuring they play a more active role in the resolution process.
Industry sources indicate that the platform will not merely be a structure focused on current issues, but will also aim to develop projects for the future of agents. It is expected that areas such as vocational training, bringing young agent representatives into the sector, supporting agents in digital transformation processes, and establishing stronger communication with industry bodies will also feature among the platform’s areas of focus.
Industry representatives, noting that the rapid transformation in the insurance sector—particularly in recent years—has made it essential for agents to act in unity and solidarity, state that such initiatives could make a significant contribution to the future of the profession.
The Chair and Board of Directors will be announced shortly
It is expected that the Insurance Agents Platform will finalise its official structure in the coming days and announce its chair and board members to the public. The platform’s roadmap and objectives, which are yet to be announced, are being eagerly awaited by the sector.
The Insurance Agents Platform, which attracted attention at the İzmir Fair with its strong presence and the interest it generated, is expected to take significant steps towards becoming the collective voice of insurance agents in the coming period.
This new initiative, which has emerged at a time when change and transformation in the insurance sector are gathering pace, is expected to attract increasing attention, particularly through its efforts to safeguard agents’ professional rights, enhance their effectiveness within the sector, and address common challenges.
